Share Market News Today | Sensex, Nifty, Share Prices Highlights: The benchmark equity indices ended Friday’s trading session in the positive territory. The NSE Nifty 50 gained 94.35 points or 0.44% to settle at 21,349.40, while the BSE Sensex jumped 241.86 jumped or 0.34% to 71,106.96. The broader indices ended in positive territory, with gains led by Smallcap and Largecap stocks. Bank Nifty index ended lower by 348.30 points or 0.73% to settle at 47,491.85. IT and Metal stocks outperformed whereas Banks and Financial services ends . Wipro, HCL Technologies, Bajaj Auto, Hindalco Industries, and Tata Motors were the top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50, while the laggards includes Grasim Industries, HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, State Bank of India, and ICICI Bank. “Indian Rupee appreciated on Friday on positive domestic markets and a weak US Dollar. However, surge in crude oil prices and FII outflows capped sharp gains. US Dollar declined on Friday as US GDP was revised lower to 4.9% in Q3 2023 vs previous forecast. However, weekly unemployment claims topped forecast, preventing a sharp fall. We expect Rupee to trade with a slight positive bias on rise in risk appetite in global markets and softness in US Dollar. However, Dollar demand from imports and selling pressure from foreign investors may cap the upside. Geopolitical tensions in the Red Sea may also weigh on Rupee at higher levels. Traders may take cues from inflation, pending home sales and durable goods orders from US. USDINR spot price is expected to trade in a range of Rs 82.80 to Rs 83.50,”

“Nifty weekly contract has highest open interest at 21500 for Calls and 21000 for Puts while monthly contracts have highest open interest at 21500 for Calls and 21000 for Puts. Highest new OI addition was seen at 21300 for Calls and 20750 for Puts in weekly and at 21600 for Calls and 21600 for Puts in monthly contracts. FIIs increased their future index long position holdings by 10.63%, decreased future index shorts by 2.44% and in index options by 4.04% decrease in Call longs, 28.42% decrease in Call short, 6.94% increase in Put longs and 27.31% decrease in Put shorts,” said Anand James, Chief Market Strategist at Geojit Financial Services.
