Yamuna Authority initiates land survey near Noida Airport; new sectors to come up with residential and commercial projects

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has started a survey to acquire approx. 3,778 acres of land across four new sectors near the upcoming Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh.
The survey aims to create four new sectors 5, 6, 7, and 8, which will be developed for residential, industrial, and mixed land use purposes. Of this, Sector 5 will be for residential purposes, Sector 6 for industrial use, and Sectors 7 and 8 for mixed land use, media reports stated.
As per the YEIDA officials, the survey work would be completed in 15 days. Concurrently, the Authority will expedite the process of purchasing land for these sectors.
Housing Society in Greater NoidaIn October last year, YEIDA announced the Group Housing Plot Scheme and invited applications for six different category plots in Sector 22-D. The reserved price of plots (including PLC) was fixed between Rs 61.50 crore to Rs 135.3 crore, while the registration amount has been fixed between Rs 6.15 crore to Rs 13.53 crore.
It is noteworthy that the ‘Group Housing Plot Scheme’ puts developers in an advantageous position, as it is close to Jewar Airport, the International Film City, Yamuna Expressway, the Medical Park, the Educational Hub, and the Buddha International Circuit.
Why is Jewar Airport important?The Noida International Airport in Jewar is being developed through a public-private partnership model (PPP). The proposed plan is to build a two-runway airport by 2024, and further, it will be expanded into a 7,200-acre six-runway airport.The upcoming greenfield airport is expected to connect cities such as Agra, Mathura, Gautam Buddh Nagar, and more to the world’s aviation network.
Expected to improve industrialization in the region, the airport would integrate the industries in the hinterland into the global value chains. Further, it will Improve air connectivity and boost tourism in the region by increasing traffic inflow at the existing tourist sites.
