Samsung Galaxy Book 3 Pro rough-cut: Everything to know in 5 points1/5

Samsung’s Galaxy Book 3 Pro takes everything we loved about last year’s Galaxy Book 2 Pro and makes it bigger, better, faster and smarter. There is more screen real estate, Intel’s latest chip, more power-packed speaker setup and more, all the while keeping things air-tight when it comes to portability making the Book 3 Pro a strong contender for the title of best ultrabooks in the market at the time of writing.2/5

The Galaxy Book 3 Pro has a body made of metal. The design is minimal, understated and very, very premium. The big USP, of course, is the form factor. The 14-inch model we have for review weighs only 1.17kg and measures just 11.3mm. The Book 3 Pro for reference is about 7g lighter than an M2-based MacBook Air. The keys, though they may seem a bit shallow, are nice and spacious. The trackpad is fairly large, too.

Samsung is using a fast 120Hz OLED 16:10 panel with a WQXGA+ or 2880 x 1800p resolution in the Galaxy Book 3 Pro. It gets plenty bright and shows punchy colour though, it can get a bit reflective at times. Regardless, content consumption is an absolute delight on this laptop.

You get a choice of either a 13th Gen Intel Core i5-1340P or Core i7-1360P processor with the Galaxy Book 3 Pro. This is paired with Intel Iris XE graphics, up to 32GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and up to 1TB of M.2 PCIe-NVMe SSD Gen 4. Performance is nippy, especially in day to day use. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, micro-SD card slot, 3.5mm audio jack, 2x Thunderbolt 4, 1x USB A 3.2 Gen 1, and HDMI 1.4. You also get AKG-powered quad speakers with support for Dolby Atmos in this laptop in addition to a 1080p webcam, and 63Wh battery (the 16-inch model has a 76Wh battery).

The 14-inch Galaxy Book 3 Pro price in India starts at Rs 1,31,990 which may seem a bit on the higher side, but taking the whole package into account, it is worth it. The Galaxy Book 3 Pro is targeted squarely up against the MacBook Air, no two ways about it. Even though Apple’s M2-based model may beat it in edge-case performance and battery life, the Book 3 Pro shines as a complete package when it comes to pure value.
